My fashion sketches

Editor’s letter #2

It’s a matter of mind.

What does actually intelligence mean today? It’s something I am wondering every day. And it’s also such a very current thing in fashion and art… So that I am bringing up the topic in this second editor’s letter

Since fashion often looks « superficial, « shallow-minded » and all the clichés that come with it, it was important to me to deal with the question on the blog… And I would say that the key of the reflexion is a matter of perception.

Someone asked me today: « What’s the capital city of Switzerland? »,  and since I didn’t know the answer (please don’t laugh at me), I simply answered: « I don’t know ».

These are words we all hear everyday and everywhere, and it’s normal, because we don’t and we CAN’T know everything.

Otherwise we wouldn’t call us humans but robots, and I would be talking about A.I instead of cleverness.

OK- I agree that I should have known that Switzerland’s capital city was Berne- but we learn everyday! So don’t feel ashamed to say « I don’t know » when you ignore something!

These are words we all hear everyday and everywhere, and it’s normal, because we don’t and we CAN’T know everything.

Not to be ashamed of yourself. To assume what you do and what you think, no matter what the way others look at you. To be always proud of being who you are. Not to be judgemental. Not to care about mainstream. To always keep your individuality, to feel good with your personnality. Without to let people influence you.

A fight we must carry days after days.

And that’s also why fashion is so interesting: it can express each and everyone’s personnality in an international language, help people fighting prejudices and feeling better about themselves.

So now remember… Don’t be scared to say « I don’t know » when you ignore something…

It’s fascinating to think that we all have a different way to approach our world. And since there are as many minds on Earth as there are humans, cleverness is in each of us!
